Baking

Cupcakes, chocolate cakes, cheesecakes, bread, brownies, cookies... How many baked goods can you think of? Baking is a pastime of many because it is both fun and produces delicious treats that we all enjoy.

If you are a baker yourself, whether you bake everyday or only on occasion, you probably have some experiences with the oven of your own. What kind of bakeware do you have? Have you have tried to bake cookies on a warped cookie sheet or bake a loaf of bread in an old glass dish?

Sometimes it comes out great, and sometimes not so much. A lot of problems can arise from the baking pan or dish you use.  One of the worst is accidently not greasing it enough and having half of what you've baked stick to the bottom.

There is a way to get perfect baked goods every time.

Silicone Bakeware

What is Silicone?

Silicone is a man-made substance that is used in many different areas including bakeware, adhesives, lubricants, cases, etc.  It has heat resistance and thermal stability, it can be used a seal from water, it is not stick, has low toxicity, and works well as electrical insulation.

Silicone is fairly new with many great properties that lend itself to many uses.  You've probably seen silicone in use and didn't even know it such as cases for electronics, coatings, cookware, and with automotives.

Silicone Bakeware

The best solution is silicone bakeware.  Silicone bakeware is revolutionary.  It allows you to bake a cake perfectly and remove the cake seamlessly.

When you first look at a loaf pan or cake pan made of silicone, you won't believe that you can stick it in the oven at all, let alone in up to a 500 degree oven.  The benefits to this type of bakeware is that it will not only not stick at all, but it will cook through evenly.

Here is a list of some of the best most common benefits of silicone bakeware:

  • The pans are nonstick and can be easily peeled away from the baked good.
  • The pans are flexible and very easily stored.
  • These pans allow great, even cooking of the baked good.
  • They come in all different designs including loaf pan, cake pan, bunt cake pan, muffin pan, baking mat, and the list goes on.
  • And, if this is what is important to you, they come in lots of bright colors, possibly matching any kitchen?

Should you Use Silicone Bakeware?

If you bake a cake once a year for your best friends birthday and other than that you never go near the oven, you might not need this type of bakeware.  On the other hand, it is a small purchase and often quite cheap, so why not go for it?
